Importance of Maths

MATHS is everywhere in day-to-day living - money, food, dimensions, distances.  Knowing the language and building blocks of mathematics brings more opportunities to each and every one of us.

• the foundation of mathematics
• the basic numerical skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• the focus of MATHSMART

Roger Bacon (1214-1294), an English Franciscan friar, philosopher, scientist and scholar of the 13th century summed it up with "Neglect of mathematics works injury to all knowledge, since he who is ignorant of it cannot know the other sciences or the things of the world."
